YOLANDA VACCARO ALEXANDER

Comunicadora y Periodista Licenciada por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Investigadora en la Universidad de Georgetown (Walsh School of Foreign Service, BMW Center for German and European Studies, Washington, D.C.).

Desde 1992 es Corresponsal de El Comercio, el diario líder en Perú. Asimismo es Consultora de Comunicación del Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID).
Ha realizado reportajes desde la mayor parte de países en Europa y Oriente Medio. Escribe artículos, entrevistas y reportajes sobre política, economía y cultura, principalmente. Entre las personalidades que ha entrevistado se encuentran los presidentes Mariano Rajoy, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero o José María Aznar; los Premios Nobel Mario Vargas Llosa, Muhammad Yunus, José Saramago y Kofi Annan, y escritores como Isabel Allende, Paulo Coelho, Fernando Savater o Arturo Pérez Reverte, entre otros.
Entre otras actividades profesionales ha sido profesora universitaria y participa en debates sobre actualidad en medios de comunicación como Televisión Española y entidades como la Casa de América de Madrid.
Miembro en dos ediciones del Jurado de los Premios Internacionales de Periodismo Rey de España de la Agencia EFE, Presidenta de la Asociación de Corresponsales de Prensa Extranjera y Premio Padre Urías de Periodismo del El Comercio como Mejor Corresponsal de Prensa Extranjera.

Communicator at the Transport Division (2014- 2016). Coordinator of the internal and external communication and press relations. Social Media Manager: Transport Division Blog, Twitter, Youtube.
Communicator at the Competitiveness and Innovation Division (2011- 2013). As part of the IDB Competitiveness and Innovation Division, served as regional coordinator of the Technical Cooperation to Strengthen Institutional Communications in Argentina, Colombia, Costa Rica, Panamá and Uruguay. Facilitates original press releases and coordinates media relations, including press conferences, media roundtables and launching activities to support the communication sector. Managed action plans and communications strategies to leverage mass media in the achievement of exclusive interviews and coverage for IDB projects on broadband access and information technologies in Latin America.
