Biografía
YOLANDA VACCARO ALEXANDER
Periodista Licenciada por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM). Realiza su Tesis Doctoral en Relaciones Internacionales.
Desde 1992 trabaja como Corresponsal de El Comercio, el diario líder en Perú. Ha realizado reportajes desde la mayor parte de países en Europa y Oriente Medio. Escribe artículos, entrevistas y reportajes sobre política, economía y cultura, principalmente. Entre las personalidades que ha entrevistado se encuentran los presidentes José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, José María Aznar, Alan García y Alejandro Toledo. También ha entrevistado a personalidades como Kofi Annan, Mario Vargas Llosa, José Saramago, Isabel Allende, Paulo Coelho o Arturo Pérez Reverte. Es también Jefa de Redacción de Ocio Latino, la publicación mensual más leída por los extranjeros en España según la Encuesta de Medios Inmigrantes.
Participa en debates sobre actualidad en medios de comunicación como CNN Plus y universidades así como en conferencias organizadas por entidades internacionales. Entre éstas últimas se encuentra el Banco Mundial.
Asimismo es colaboradora de Safe Democracy y del blog Nuestra América de la versión americana del diario El Mundo. Ha sido Profesora Asociada de IE School of Communication- IE University. Entre otras actividades profesionales ha sido Presidenta de la Asociación de Corresponsales de Prensa Extranjera y ha recibido el Premio Padre Urías del Diario El Comercio como Mejor Corresponsal de Prensa Extranjera.
BIO
Yolanda Vaccaro Alexander is a Peruvian and Spanish journalist. Since 1992 she has worked as the European correspondent for El Comercio, the leader Peruvian newspaper, founded in 1839. She has carried out reports and interviews –including Presidents of Goverments and States- from almost every country in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. She gives seminars at Spanish universities and is a sought-after speaker for debates about Latin American current affairs and news in channels like CNN Plus. Ms Vaccaro is an expert contributor for the think tank Safe Democracy Foundation.
She has been the President of the Spanish International Press Correspondents Association and has worked as Adjunct Professor in the IE School of Communication, IE University, Spain.
Vaccaro Alexander holds a licenciatura in journalism from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM) and has also completed all of the coursework leading to the Ph.D. in International Relations at UCM.
